About the project

Local power should
be visible.

Barnstable Civic Record follows how public conversation, private correspondence and municipal decisions connect. Our first focus is Eric Schwaab and Barnstable Unofficial.

We use public records released by the Town of Barnstable, captured public Facebook material and official Council sources.

Councilor Charles Bloom / 16 August 2025

“Good letter and thanks for preparing it for me.”

The acknowledgment identifies the drafting role.

Bloom is replying to a sample funding letter prepared by Schwaab. The original email is the evidence for that account.

Collection scope and source notes

The selected evidence collection contains 54 selected entries, including two Facebook opening excerpts and 49 Town-released record entries with reproduced primary pages. The three Council entries summarize earlier research; their original official sources are linked for follow-up.

The wider source collection includes posts displayed under the names Eric Schwaab and Greg Williams, plus captured discussions. The selected evidence entries contain no Greg Williams sample. The separate working captures retain mixed displayed names and text without assigning account ownership. It is not an exhaustive archive of the group, its membership, or the Great Streets project.

Capture excerpts come from BU_Chrome_2026-10-17T20-00-42-144Z.json. The source-file checksum and exact excerpt boundaries are recorded in the capture manifest. Comments and replies are excluded from these excerpts. The first two source packets are the October 4, 2026 record check and research brief. The civic workflow packet adds selected pages on platform transition, enforcement, request drafting, a draft public response and a committee application. Its source manifest maps each excerpt to the original file and production page. A second public messaging and municipal routes packet adds fifteen checked pages on statement drafting, a Facebook sharing request, Council circulation and a letter-writing campaign, with its own source manifest.

The Town document search includes all 2,387 supplied PDF pages, with visible source images and unverified OCR. All available OCR texts received an initial reading pass, including 94 supplemental orientation-recovery transcriptions. This is not a complete visual audit or independent verification of every allegation. The 54 selected evidence entries retain their individual review scopes. All reproduced pages retain the original redactions.
