Method / Counting and coverage
Know what a number means.
A capture is not necessarily a post. A page is not necessarily a new event.
The current edition contains 54 selected evidence entries and searches 2,387 supplied Town PDF pages. Neither figure measures the frequency of Eric Schwaab’s conduct or the scale of public support.
Our units of counting
| Unit | Meaning | Keep in view |
|---|---|---|
| Source file | An unchanged original export or supplied PDF, identified by a SHA-256 checksum. | The same file imported twice adds no new source bytes or conduct. |
| PDF page | One page at one location in a supplied PDF. | The same email may recur on several pages or in both productions. Search results count matching pages. |
| Capture observation | One saved visit or capture, with its source export and position. | Two visits may capture the same text. They remain two observations. |
| Text snapshot | One distinct combination of capture kind, group, parent post ID and exact text hash. | Different wrapping, interface text or comments can create a different snapshot. This does not prove a post was edited. |
| Parent thread | One stable group/post ID supported by a matching saved Facebook URL. | A parent ID does not identify every author or separate the post from discussion. |
| Reply snapshot | Saved mixed reply text with matching parent URL and saved parent proof. | Stored separately from parent-page snapshots. It is not a count of individual replies or proof of each speaker’s identity. |
| Selected evidence entry | An editorial unit with a stable GS- or BC- reference and a stated review scope. | An entry may cover a chain or related documents. Entry totals are not unique acts, posts or people. |
| Documented event | A communication or action separated by actor, date and content after review. | Quoted earlier messages and repeated productions do not become new events. Related actions are not automatically one event. |
Dates, gaps and comparisons
The working Facebook archive counts linked parent threads and saved text snapshots separately. This edition provides 403 linked threads, 3,072 page snapshots and seven separate reply snapshots. It excludes unlinked search/feed previews and early parsed records from public browsing.
Keep the message date, displayed Facebook date, capture time and export time separate. A missing year remains unknown until corroborated. Do not sort an uncertain year into a confirmed annual total.
The supplied Town packages have printed-number gaps at 405 and 768–797, and two different pages labeled 1484. These observations do not establish that records were withheld.
Any future activity chart should identify its source set, date range, exclusions, unit and review status. Partial capture coverage cannot establish a rate for the whole group. Online comments and self-selected polls cannot establish representative public opinion.
Changes in wording or classifications should retain the prior version, the reason, the supporting source and the review date.
